Vesterålen Rorbuer is a resort located in the Vesterålen archipelago, an area known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural history. One of the highlights of Vesterålen Rorbuer is its authentic Rorbu accommodations, which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Rorbus, or fisherman’s cabins, were traditionally used by fishermen during the cod fishing season. These cabins were built on stilts over the water, allowing fishermen to easily access their boats and the ocean. Today, many of these historic cabins have been renovated and converted into comfortable accommodations for travelers. Staying in a Rorbu is a unique experience that allows visitors to connect with the area’s rich fishing heritage and enjoy stunning views of the ocean and surrounding landscape.

Vesterålen Rorbuer AS has great respect for nature, and admires it with great force. They strive to reuse old materials and interiors rather than buy new ones. They make sure that guests can spend a car-free holiday, thanks to all the activities right outside the door of the rorbu. A minimum of 5% of their profit each year goes to support social/environmental/physically active initiatives.
