Travel with Ila 🇮🇹

 

Ilaria is a tour guide, travel designer, and travel writer passionate about responsible tourism, outdoor life, and authentic experiences. As a travel designer and tour guide, she specializes in organizing experiential and sustainable trips for small groups in the Azores, Portugal, and other countries where she has spent extended periods living. She arranges private guided tours, promotes stays in family-run accommodations, boutique hotels, and eco-friendly destinations, and prioritizes walking and cycling journeys. Through her blog “Travel with Ila” and collaborations with international travel magazines, she shares her experiences and reflections. 

She is the author of a guidebook dedicated to the Azores and is currently working on two new books recounting personal travel stories, including adventures like climbing Kilimanjaro and solo travels in Latin America. She is excited to present and publish “The Responsible Traveler’s Handbook” with the support of the First Mile project.

Dafne Viaggi Tour Operator is located in the wonderful Historic Center of the City of Genoa. It was born in 2013 thanks to the experience of Dafne Cooperative’s environmental and hiking guides and tour guides, who doing fieldwork, among the overhanging paths and the crystal clear sea, the intricate mazes of the Caruggi (narrow medieval roads) and the ancient Ligurian medieval Borghi, have created excellent tourism products. A deep knowledge of the area and a passion for environmental protection has enabled Dafne to grow as a dedicated Incoming tour operator, not only in the field of educational travel for schools, but also for individuals and small groups, both Italian and foreign.

Valle Dei Cavalieri 🇮🇹

 

VALLE DEI CAVALIERI is a community social cooperative founded in the Village of Succiso 1000 meters above sea level in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines in the province of Reggio Emilia in the year 1991. Succiso is one of the main gates of the Tuscan- Emilian Apennines National Park, and the cooperative manages the related Visitor Center. 

The main activity is agritourism, the structure has 11 rooms all with bathrooms and a small wellness centre, an excellent restaurant, a bar and a shop with its own products and the typical products of the Park. The agricultural farm is dedicated to sheep breeding and produces “Pecorino dell ‘Alto Appennino Reggiano” in their cheese factory. The company offers educational activities for schools and families in collaboration with the National Park and other associations.  The cooperative has a multi-purpose sports center, rents electric bikes, snowshoes, trekking equipment and cross-country skis. 

Since 2007 it has also started sustainable tourism activities, focusing on meeting between potential tourists in the area, the community, and the surrounding environment. In 2018, it participated in the 14th UNWTO AWARDS for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism and won the second prize.
